The Indigenous People of Biafra, United States of America(IPOB USA) chapter has declared its readiness to counter any diplomatic move by Nigeria’s federal government to stave off possible U.S military intervention to end Christan genocide in Nigeria.
The Presidency is said to be engaged in a flurry of diplomatic offensives to deter external military intervention over its internal security issues following the threat by the U.S President Donald Trump to carry out “fast, vicious, and sweet” military operation against terrorists in Nigeria.
Trump specifically issued a strong threat to take out the “terrorist thugs” behind the Christian genocide in Nigeria, a claim that FG has continued to deny.
B in a statement passed through IPOB’s spokesperson, Comrade Emma Powerful, the
IPOB USA issued “maximum voltage activist alert” urging all Judeo-Christians and Biafrans in the U.S to converge on Washington D.C for protest to counter FG’s denial of ethno-religious genocide.
Though it has not specified the date for the peaceful protest, the group said that it has commenced mobilisation for a peaceful protest to counter any diplomatic effort to make Trump change his mind on military action.
It said that it was waiting to counter Nigeria’s delegation coming to Washington “to polish Nigeria’s battered international image and deceive world leaders into believing that peace, justice, and religious freedom exist in that country. They want to cover the blood”.
“We say NO! We will not allow the same government presiding over ethnic cleansing, forced displacement, church burnings, abductions, and mass burials of indigenous peoples to rewrite the narrative while the victims are still bleeding,” IPOB said.
The group insisted that “we must support President Trump to end ethno-religious genocide in Nigeria”, adding that “this is the hour to raise our voices with thunder, in the capital of the free world”.
IPOB stated that it would use peaceful protest to counter any lies that Nigeria’s team is coming to tell the world in Washington, stressing that it would use only voice, flags, faith, and courage” to achieve its purpose.
It insisted that “no diplomatic lies can cover mass graves. No lobbying can erase the tears of widows and orphans. No propaganda can bury the truth forever.
“The world must hear the cry of the persecuted. America must stand with the oppressed — not the oppressor”.
IPOB USA faulted Nigerian government’s continued denial of ethno-religious genocide, saying that “Hausa ancestral identity (has been) erased, Nupe communities swallowed, and Middle Belt villages wiped out”.
It further stated that “Christian lands in Southern Kaduna (are) soaked in blood, Yoruba communities in Kwara (are) under siege, while Biafraland (is) under constant military occupation”.
IPOB stated that the time to mobilise “is now – not tomorrow because indigenous nations across Nigeria are being overrun one after another (hence) if we don’t rise, we will be the next headline, the next mass grave, the next ‘never again’ story”.
The group revalled that its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had over a decade ago “sounded the alarm about the jihadist expansion, land-grabbing agenda, and systematic extermination targeting Judeo-Christian populations”.
However, instead of taking preventive action the Nigerian authorities “abducted him(Kanu), tortured him, and locked him away because he refused to be silent while his people were marked for extinction”.
“We will honor his sacrifice by taking the truth to Washington, D.C. — loudly”.
IPOB made it clear that “our protest will be peaceful — but unmistakably powerful”, adding that “there is no neutral ground in the face of genocide. Silence is surrender. Inaction is consent”.
It called on every Biafran in the U.S, Judeo-Christians, Yoruba Nation, Middle Belt, Idoma, Tiv, Ijaw, Ibibio, and all indigenous peoples, as well as human rights defenders, civil liberty groups, and all people with a conscience to “join this march for truth”.
“This is not a violent call. This is not a call for confrontation. This is a call for a mass, peaceful, unstoppable display of conscience,” IPOB said.
