The Nigerian Project(TNP), a movement driven by loyalists of former military president, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida(IBB) has continued to take shape across states spreading its message of patriotism and unity.
The National Convener of TNP, Chief Reagan Ufomba said that with the convergence of people who are burning with patriotic zeal, the goal of birthing a more united and prosperous Nigeria would be achieved.
He stated this while addressing a virtual meeting of TNP State Administrators, Coordinators, Acting Coordinators and the Executives, saying that it has become pertinent to mobilise true patriots who are ready to render selfless service for national development.
According to him, at this critical moment, the survival of Nigeria requires people that put national interest above their personal or sectional agenda, hence TNP has emerged to answer this clarion call to champion the cause for national rebirth.
“The choice is ours to make between service to nation and service to self; and between service to our various political parties and service to The Nigerian Project,” Chief Ufomba said.
He enjoined the state officers of the movement to engage communities through meaningful initiatives and throw the TNP net to attract patriotic Nigerians whose thinking revolves around the growth of a united Nigeria.
To this end, the TNP National Convenor stated that “the message we convey to the public is critical to our impact and the perception of who we are”.
He threfore harped on the need for members “to deploy tact, harmonize our ideas, firm our values, design our schemes, and carve a unique methodology”.
Ufomba outlined the principles of the body to include zero tolerance to corruption, electoral reforms, mass literacy, eradication of poverty, and true federalism.
He made it clear that TNP has no political affiliation and warned against endorsement of candidates of political parties and divisive tendencies.
The TNP leader thanked State Coordinators for their efforts in establishing their structures and urged them to strive towards expansion of membership at all levels.
He said that the National Secretariat wojld in due course issue uniform guidelines on state and local government structures of TNP to ensure uniformity.
While welcoming new members and officers to “a transformative journey”, Ufomba told them that their “energy, ideas, and commitment will be instrumental in achieving our shared goals”.
“As we march forward, let us remain steadfast, disciplined, patriotic, and united,” he charged the TNP members.
The various State Coordinators and Administrators, in their respecrive remarks, said that the goals of TNP resonates with them. They expressed their commitment to the mobilization of patriotic Nigerians to join in the task of building a more united and prosperous Nigeria.
