The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has decried the activities of impostors who mount online platforms to issue orders and directives in the name of Commanders of the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
In a statement issued by its Spokesperson, Emma Powerful, IPOB said that the fake directives by “online impostors, infiltrators, and state-sponsored charlatans” were intended to mislead the public.
The group warned those parading themselves on social media as commanders of ESN to desist from their deceitful and treacherous activities, urging the general public to ignore the agents of sabotage.
IPOB insisted that the command structure of ESN remains intact and its mission of protecting Biafraland unchanged despite the imprisonment of its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is also the founder of ESN.
The statement reads:
“The attention of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the supreme leadership of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has been drawn to the activities of online impostors, infiltrators, and state-sponsored charlatans parading themselves on social media as commanders of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), issuing fake directives and attempting to mislead the public.
“Let it be made abundantly clear: ESN does not take orders online. ESN has never taken orders online. ESN will never take orders online.
“The Eastern Security Network was established by Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu under a disciplined and centralised chain of command with one sacred duty: to defend Biafraland from invasion, occupation, and the fate that has befallen other indigenous territories across Nigeria.
“ESN was not created for noise. It was not created for propaganda. It was not created for social media performance. It was created as a disciplined indigenous defence structure with a defined command system, a singular mission, and one source of authority.
“That command structure remains intact.
Those issuing imaginary orders online in the name of ESN are not part of that structure. They do not speak for ESN. They do not speak for IPOB. They are enemies of Biafra restoration, opportunists feeding off confusion, and agents planted by the Nigerian state to fracture trust, create disorder, and weaken the only indigenous self-defence architecture that has successfully protected our people.
“The public is advised to disregard every social media audio, post, broadcast, and fabricated “directive” claiming to emanate from ESN. ESN operations are not conducted on Facebook, not on WhatsApp, not on TikTok, not on X, and not in the comment sections of political hustlers. ESN answers to command, not clout.
“When Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu established ESN, he did so because he understood the consequence of delay. He understood what happens to a people who wait too long to defend themselves. He understood what conquest looks like when it is ignored, excused, or politically accommodated.
“He saw what happened to the ancient Hausa Kingdoms. He saw what happened in Ilorin.
He saw what has become of Kwara.
He saw indigenous communities in the Middle Belt displaced, ancestral lands overtaken, identities eroded, and generations uprooted from their own soil.
He saw towns emptied.
He saw villages burned.
He saw communities renamed by force.
He saw the pattern.
And he refused to allow Biafraland become the next chapter in that history.
“That is why ESN was created.
And that is why Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is in detention today.
He is not in detention because he committed any crime. He is in detention because he did what cowardly political leaders refused to do. He saw the danger early, named it clearly, and prepared his people before it arrived at full force.
That is his crime in the eyes of the Nigerian state.
“While the North bleeds, while the Middle Belt buries its dead, and while communities across the West are displaced from ancestral lands and reduced to refugees in their own country, Biafraland remains standing because one man saw tomorrow and prepared for it.
“This is not propaganda. This is reality.
The killings are real. The sackings are real.
The occupation is real.
The silence of compromised political elites is real.
“From Southern Kaduna to Benue, from Plateau to parts of Yoruba land, the evidence is written in blood, in ash, and in abandoned homes.
Whole communities have been uprooted.
Farmers have been driven off ancestral lands.
Villages have been erased.
And governments issue press statements while the dead are counted.
“Biafraland was marked for the same fate.
It did not happen because Mazi Nnamdi Kanu acted before the collapse reached our doorstep. History will remember that.
History will record that while others debated semantics and negotiated surrender, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu built a shield.
“History will record that while others outsourced the defence of their people to compromised politicians and failed institutions, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu chose preparation.
History will record that ESN drew a line where others hesitated.
History will record that Enugu did not become another Kwara because ESN stood in the gap.
“Today, ESN continues to function through its established internal command structure—silently, effectively, and without public theatre. It does not advertise. It does not perform for social media. It does not issue operational directives in public. It does not answer to online fraudsters, blackmail merchants, or infiltrators posing as agitators.
Its duty remains what it has always been: protect Biafraland at all costs.
That duty continues.
“Those exploiting the ESN name for extortion, propaganda, confusion, or state-sponsored sabotage will fail.
Their noise is manufactured.
Their purpose is deception.
Their sponsors are known.
But they will fail.
“ESN remains intact.
ESN remains disciplined.
ESN remains under one central command.
And IPOB remains one indivisible movement under one central authority, whether our Leader is in prison or not.
The structure remains.
The mission remains.
The command remains.
And Biafraland remains defended”.
