Stakeholders of the Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have passed vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ane reaffirmed their “unwavering support” for him.

The party stakeholders in a communique issued at end of their meeting held on November 15, 2025 at the state secretariat of the party in Umuahia, expressed their full alignment with Mr. President’s “transformative achievements”.

In the nine-point communique, the party stakeholders expressed their commitment to  “working diligently and strategically” towards Tinubu’s successful re-election for a second term in 2027.

The stakeholders acknowledged the need to put the collective interest of Abia APC first and urged members the for “to uphold unity, cohesion, and collective purpose in all party affairs”.

“The Abia State APC stands firm as a united and formidable political family under the capable leadership of the State Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Kingsley Ononogbu,” the stakeholders stated.

On the E-registration of APC members, the stakeholders directed the State Working Committee “to commence the E-Registration Exercise without delay”.

All party leaders across the 17 Abia Local Governments and all the component wards were therefore “mandated to mobilize fully to ensure the exercise is comprehensive, seamless, and highly successful”.

Taking into cognizance of the influx of defectors into Abia APC, that stakeholders said that “all new members are required to register strictly at their respective wards in accordance with the provisions of the APC Constitution”.

They expressed satisfaction with the renewed sense of unity, harmony, and cooperation currently prevailing among party leaders, latching on it to restate their party’s goal of forming the next government in Abia.

“All party stakeholders are encouraged to intensify grassroots mobilization and continue attracting new members to further strengthen and expand the party’s structure.

“The Abia State APC resolves to work relentlessly to secure victory in the 2027 general elections, ensuring that the Abia Government House and all elective positions are won decisively in favour of the All Progressives Congress,” the communique read.

Apart from Mr. President, the Abia State APC also passed a vote of confidence on the party’s National and State Assembly members, including the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, who represents Abia North.

Others covered by the confidence are Hon. Chris Nwonta, member representing Ukwa East/West federal constituency, and Hon. Emmanuel Ndubuisi, member representing Bende South State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly.

The Abia APC Chairman, Dr Ononogbu had in his address at the meeting informed the stakeholders that the party had overcome the divisive tendencies of the past and “is now one, united, solid and strong to embark on 2027 elections”.

He said that the goal of Abia APC was not just to contest but to ensure that the party cleared all the elective positions in Abia in the forthcoming 2027 general election from state to federal level.

“As a ruling party at the center and the main opposition in the state, Abia APC cannot afford to go into future elections unprepared.

“We must be intentional, determined, and strategic in all of our future engagements and actions. We must be well equipped, rebuild and reposition our party for the contest ahead of us,” Ononogbu stated.
