The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has congratulated the newly elected President of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Godswill Akpabio, saying his emergence was well deserved.
Nwifuru, in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Dr Monday Uzor, expressed satisfaction over the seamless election of the Principal Officers of 10th National Assembly, noting
According to him, the emergence of Akpabio as the Senate President is a testimony of his sterling performances in the various positions of trust he has held, including his landmark achievements when he was governor of Akwa Ibom State.

No doubt, your emergence is significant going by your track records in various positions of trust which you have held among which was your sterling performance as Governor of Akwa Ibom State,” Governor Nwifuru said.
He equally congratulated the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Jubrin Barau, Speaker House of Resentatives, Rt Hon. Tajudeen Abass and his Deputy Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, for being found worthy to serve the nation.
The Ebonyi governor described the trio as experienced lawmakers who will unite the nation with the instrumentality of effective, people-oriented legislations.
While commending the members of the National Assembly for their wise decisions in choosing their Principal Officers, Nwifuru urged them to give maximum support to the new leadership.
